Software Engineers/Developers

Rostima is currently seeking highly motivated professional Software Engineers to fill roles in both our UK and Malaysian offices. Successful candidates will report directly to the Development Manager but will be expected to liaise with our Professional Services team to ensure that all business requirements are met while adhering to quality and efficiency standards.

All candidates expecting to progress to an interview stage must have significant development experience; a large portion of which should be commercial with evidence of involvement in at least 3 high profile projects.

A successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate most, if not all, of the following skills:

  • Ability to problem-solve and think laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the requirements of a given project
  • Desire to continuously update technical knowledge by researching and testing new technologies and strategies
  • Ability to test new and existing solutions to fault find and rectify problems discovered by Professional Services and/or Clients
  • Ability to develop and improve existing solutions by identifying areas for modification as well as providing risk assessments and suggested actions
  • Ability to create and utilise technical specifications and documentation
  • Ability to work closely with colleagues including other Engineers, Managers, Consultants and possibly Clients
  • Ability to deliver quality solutions while under pressure from stringent deadlines and Client pressures

And demonstrate the following specific technical skills:

  • Strong solution deployment using C#.Net
  • Strong working knowledge of object-oriented design and implementation coupled with strong documentation skills
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft's .Net Framework 2.0 with the ability to illustrate efficient use of available libraries and methodologies
  • Strong debugging and fault finding skills utilising the various tools available with Visual Studio and other third party software
  • Strong development in WinForms applications as well as experience with ASP.NET
  • Strong SQL Server and T-SQL development skills or Strong Oracle 10G and PL/SQL development skills

The following skills would be of a significant benefit:

  • .Net Framework 3.5 exposure
  • Experience in the Workforce Management/Human Resource sector
